About the Leadership Team

Matthew Chan
Co-President (Fontainebleau)
Originally trained as a medical doctor from Australia, Matthew is extremely passionate about healthcare innovation & access to healthcare. He has experience in entrepreneurship, having founded a medtech startup in AI diagnostics for developing countries and worked with other startups in medical devices & blockchain, and is also a passionate clinical researcher & educator.


Jean-Baptiste Campergue
Co-President (Fontainebleau)
Pharmacist and specialist in laboratory medicine, JB was in the leadership team of a national union in France. During his professional experience, he has always sought to combine his medical skills with his passion for business development, strategy and operational performance of healthcare systems.


Thomas Devenyns
Co-President (Singapore)
Thomas is passionate about the role of technology and what it means for society and the future of healthcare. After graduating as a mathematical engineer in Belgium, Thomas started his career as a management consultant at McKinsey&Company in Belgium and then Switzerland. He has mainly served mainly healthcare, pharmaceuticals and medtech companies on digital, data & analytics strategy and implementation across the value chain.


Kankan Xia
Co-President (Singapore)

After completing an MPhil in Haematology, Kankan worked as a consultant in the UK for five years, primarily focusing on corporate strategy projects for clients in the pharma, medical devices and digital health spaces.


Zhenxi Liu
VP Events & Diagnosis & Medical Devices (Fontainebleau)
Down-to-earth healthcare commercial leader. Eight years of comprehensive experience in the healthcare industry, worked for Danaher, Roche, J&J, leading business development. Passionate and dedicated in healthcare innovation and make changes happen.


Benjamin Pidduck
VP Finance (Fontainebleau)
After working for several years in management consulting in North America, Benjamin joined a global health NGO. His work focused on market access initiatives and innovative financing mechanisms for medical technologies and pharmaceuticals in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.


Jiaxin Qin
VP Careers (Fontainebleau)
Before INSEAD, Jiaxin worked in management consulting and was responsible for leading projects in healthcare sector. His clients include pharma and medical device MNCs, industry regulators and associations, investors, etc. He has delivered ~20 healthcare-related projects on strategy, marketing, product launch, operation, M&A, etc. These experiences arouse his enthusiasm for developing healthcare business in emerging markets.

 

Juan Rodriguez Abril
VP Communication (Fontainebleau)
Prior to INSEAD INSEAD, Juan has 6 years of experience in strategy consulting with focus on transactions and M&A and led projects in healthcare sector. His clients include hospitals, pharma, dental clinics, and medical device manufacturers.


Huiting Hsieh
VP Pharma & Biotech (Fontainebleau)
A certified pharmacist with clinical experience. After working in hospital for 2 years, she moved to Bayer, a leading pharma company, and rotated from sales representative, (Sr.) medical science liaison, to product manager.


Victor Abramov
VP Startups & SMEs (Fontainebleau)
Victor has 8 years of experience in management consulting, focusing on the healthcare industry. He has led projects for portfolio development, promotion strategy optimization and AI diagnostics. Passionate about the data, served as translator between top managers and data scientists.


Amira Eapen
VP Global & Public Health (Fontainebleau)
With an M.Sc. in Global Health and 6 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Amira has worked in multiple areas both in large international development organisations and start-ups: emergency medical response, hospital quality management, laboratory services, training & capacity building, and partnerships & business development. Originally from Canada, she has worked in Kenya for the last 4.5 years, and is passionate about public & global health initiatives, especially focused on emerging markets.


Grace Chew
VP Events (Singapore)
Grace is a family physician who was previously working in the public health sector in Singapore. She has had 7 years of experience in health services delivery in various settings. Her interest is in facilitating broader dialogue around health-related topics.


Subjaghyoti Ghosh
VP Treks (Singapore)
Subhajyoti has 5+ years of experience in healthcare ranging from sell-side investment banking focusing on European Biopharma to developing growth and corporate strategies for a leading global biosimilar player.


Peter Peng
VP Pharma & Biotech (Singapore)
Prior to INSEAD, Peter worked at Amgen for six years. His main experiences include starting up Amgen’s next generation flexible biologics production facility, developing agile & digitalized business solutions and championing operational excellence projects in the biotech space.


Aishwarya Sridharan
VP Diagnostics & Medical Devices (Singapore)
Aishwarya has 8 years of experience in healthcare consulting, biomedical research, and designing Masters degree courses across the US, UK, and Singapore. Most recently, she worked as a Project Manager and Medical Communications Specialist in Singapore, where she delivered initiatives for leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies across the Asia-Pacific.


Ruchi Hotchandani
VP Diagnostics & Medical Devices (Singapore)
Prior to INSEAD, Ruchi worked as a healthcare consultant at the Economist Intelligence Unit for 4 years, providing advisory services to med-tech and pharmaceuticals in areas of strategy and market access.


Chris Hartung
VP Startups & SMEs (Singapore)
Chris has 8 years’ experience in the healthcare industry. He started his career at the consultancy ZS Associates focusing on sales and marketing related projects in the Pharma, Medtech and Biotech industry before moving to a global marketing leadership role at the chronic care medical device company ConvaTec.


Agata Colzani
VP Startups & SMEs (Singapore)
Prior to INSEAD, Agata has worked as a business developer at Memed, a Brazilian HealthTech Startup, and as a business consultant for clients from various industries, including healthcare.


Alessandro di Marzio
VP Global & Public Health (Singapore)
After completing a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering, Alessandro has been working in the medical imaging industry starting as Clinical Specialist in Europe and Singapore. He then moved to Marketing and Product Management roles for the South East Asia region.

 

 

Advisory Committee 

 

The INSEAD Healthcare Club Advisory Board was established to strengthen the alignment of INSEAD students with Healthcare focused Alumni, Faculty and the INSEAD Healthcare Initiative. The Advisory Board also aids in engaging leaders in the healthcare field.  Another key role the Advisory Board plays is providing a strengthened element of continuity between MBA promotions and facilitating transitions of the INSEAD MBA Healthcare Club elected boards. In doing so, the Advisory Board provides an integral element of governance and propels the clubs to continued excellence.

 

Reinhard Angelmar
Emeritus Professor of Marketing
The Salmon and Rameau Fellow of Healthcare Management, Emeritus

 

Reinhard Angelmar is Emeritus Professor of Marketing and The Salmon and Rameau Fellow of Healthcare Management, Emeritus, at INSEAD. Other institutions at which he has held appointments include the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan School), the Stockholm School of Economics, ESSEC Business School, and the University Paris Dauphine.

 

Professor Angelmar has taught in INSEAD’s MBA program, the PhD program, and in many executive development programs. Having directed INSEAD’s International Marketing Programme for many years, he currently directs INSEAD’s Healthcare Compliance Implementation Leadership Programmes. He has also designed and directed tailormade INSEAD programs for organizations such as Amgen, Eli Lilly, Janssen-Cilag, LEEM (Les Entreprises du Médicament), Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Sanofi Pasteur, Takeda, and the World Medical Association. Other companies with which Professor Angelmar has been involved include Abbott, ALK-Abello, Almirall, AstraZeneca, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Grünenthal, Ipsen, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, and Roche. Professor Angelmar has also carried out assignments as an expert in pharmaceutical litigation. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Marketing, and Life Science Compliance.

 

Stephen E. Chick
Professor of Technology and Operations Management
The Novartis Chaired Professor of Healthcare Management

 

Stephen Chick is a Professor of Technology and Operations Management at INSEAD. He received his MSc and PhD from the University of California at Berkeley in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research and his BSc in Mathematics from Stanford University. Prior to joining INSEAD, he taught process modeling, simulation and information systems as a faculty member at the University of Michigan.

 

He worked for five years in the automotive and software industries before joining academia. In the MBA program he has taught the Process and Operations Management core course and the Management of Services elective course. He codirects the Industrial Excellence Award competition, that recognizes top factories in Western Europe, as described in Usine Nouvelle and WirtschaftsWoche magazines. His research brings together simulation and statistical decision making tools to help improve process design decisions in a variety of industries including the health sector. His research has been funded by the US Environmental Protection Agency, the Centers for Disease Control and the National Institutes of Health, and he has worked with several pharma, vaccine and health care delivery organizations. Most recently he is working on process excellence in health care delivery, systems thinking for resource allocation in health care systems, and Bayesian approaches to optimal sequential sampling.

 

Dr. Chandra P. Leo, MD
INSEAD MBA, Class of December 2002
HMB Partners
Dr. Chandra P. Leo has worked in venture capital / private equity since 2001, focusing on investments in   biotech/pharma and medical devices. He is a member of the private equity team at HBM Partners, a global investor in healthcare and life science companies. As such, Dr. Leo is responsible for HBM’s investments in several private companies in the United States and Europe. He previously practiced as a physician in Leipzig, Germany, and worked as a postdoctoral scientist at Stanford University. Dr. Leo attended medical school at the Freie Universität Berlin (Charité) and King’s College London and holds an MBA degree from INSEAD. He currently serves as President of the INSEAD Healthcare Alumni Network which he co-founded in 2006.
