Welcome to the INSEAD Private Equity & Venture Capital Club
The INSEAD Private Equity & Venture Capital Club (IPEVC) is run by INSEAD students and serves as a forum for those interested in all aspects of the private equity industry.
IPEVC’s goal is to provide opportunities for its members on both the Fontainebleau and Singapore campuses to learn about private equity, interact with key industry players, and meet fellow students and alumni with similar interests. With over 1,000 INSEAD alumni working in private equity firms worldwide, IPEVC’s goal is to support INSEAD’s thought leadership, participation and recognition in the field by enabling INSEAD graduates to pursue an exciting career in or related to private equity.
I am a Partner at Index Ventures, VC firm backing the most ambitious entrepreneurs across Europe & US, including Deliveroo, Dropbox, Just Eat, Skype & Slack. I am primarily focused on FinTech, backing transformative companies such as Adyen, Robinhood & TransferWise. INSEAD helped open many doors, including to my post MBA job at General Atlantic. I left INSEAD in 2002 with a broad perspective on business, a curiosity about the world, and most importantly, many amazing lifelong friendships.
I have the privilege of being at the forefront of two firsts: I co-founded Europe’s first Seed Fund – Seedcamp – in 2007 which is also the first venture fund in Europe started by a woman. We are behind companies like Transferwise, WeFox, UIPath, myBuilder, Stupeflix and over 200 other globally ambitious businesses. We are one of the most active backers of INSEAD graduates who go onto become entrepreneurs and operators. INSEAD was a career defining 0 to 1 moment post MBA for me. From the diversity that pushes you to work differently to the incredible friendships made, I treasure my experience deeply. Long may I be fortunate enough to help the INSEAD mafia build on!
INSEAD has been invaluable in my move from consulting to banking and eventually to private equity.Through a combination of elective courses, IPEC activities, INSEAD career services, a summer internship, and a bit of luck, I managed to make the desired move to banking (Goldman Sachs) and later to PE (KKR). The vast and global alumni network has been a major advantage both during recruitment as well as today.
